Viability of MiSFIT in Migraine Clinical Studies Using Single-shell Acquisitions

Poster presented at the 1st Iberian Chapter Meeting ISMRM (2021).

Abstract: White matter (WM) changes have been identified in migraine patients using DTI. However, conflicting results in the literature may reveal that DTI measures are insufficient to assess WM properties in migraine. Therefore, complementary parameters are needed to better interpret such findings. Our purpose is to evaluate the viability of advanced measures calculated using MiSFIT to detect changes in migraine from DTI compatible, single-shell acquisitions. Specifically, we focus on the transverse diffusivity 𝜆⟂, a parameter that can be interpreted as the effective diffusion perpendicular to a small fiber section.
