INTRODUCTION
SATURN stands for "Software Application of Tensor Utilities for Research in Neuroimaging". It is a software tool especially designed for Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) analysis and visualization. It is based on the open source ITK, VTK and Qt libraries. Its main features are:
- Multi-platform support (Windows, linux and MacOS).
- Object Oriented.
- Easy to use for non experts (User friendly GUI).
- Easy to handle for developers.
- Support input/output: DICOM, Kretz, Metaheader (mhd), nifti, vtk, raw, tif, jpg, png.
- Basic Tensor Utilites: DWI loading, DWI Filtering, Mask computation, Tensor Estimation, Scalar Magnitudes computation (FA, RA, MD, Eigenvalues, Geometric Coefficients, and tensor components).
- Tractography (4th order Runge-Kutta). Automatic Fiber Clustering.
- Fiber and Regions Of Interest (ROIs) edition.
- 2D Visualization of slices in orthogonal views of a volume.
- 3D Visualization of models (fibers and structures) with 2D orthogonal views, including oblique plane visualization.
- Computation of measures in ROIs and along Fiber Tracts.
- Interactive glyphs visualization.
