[10 May 2017]

The LPI was present in April 2017 in the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine 25th Annual Meeting and Exhibition, Honolulu, HI, USA. The LPI presented the following three e-posters:

Determination of the optimal set of b-values for ADC mapping under a Rician noise assumption

- Optimal design of motion-compensated diffusion gradient waveforms

- Cardio-Respiratory Motion Estimation for Compressed Sensing Reconstruction of Free-Breathing 2D Cine MRI

III Postgraduate ICT Workshop

[11 May 2017]

Last May 5th, the III Workshop on Information and Communication Tecnologies organised by the Higher Technical School of Telecommunication Engineering took place. This meeting was organised by and for postgraduate students in the ICT field with the purpose of sharing the advances and milestones achieved during the development of their thesis with other students and thesis directors.

Project under course: 100% efficient reconstruction through compressive sensing and joint estimation of cardio-respiratory motion in MRI

[05 May 2017]

The funded research project: "Isotropic cine cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, an extension to contrast-free angiography: 100% efficient reconstruction through compressive sensing and joint estimation of cardio-respiratory motion" is currently under course and we are in the process of achieving full 3D , 100% efficient, free-breathing cardiac cine  with groupwise motion-compensated accelerated reconstruction. The funding institution requires us to promote this advertisement.

LPI at ISBI 2017 in Melbourne

[24 Apr 2017]

The LPI was present in 2017 IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI), hold in April at Melbourne. ISBI is a joint initiative of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS).  A full communication was sent to the conference, presented in a poster session, entitled Groupwise Non-Rigid Registration on Multiparametric Abdominal DWI Acquisitions for Robust ADC Estimation: Comparison with Pairwise Approaches and Different Multimodal Metrics.

LPI at CASEIB 2016

[20 Jan 2017]

The LPI has taken part on the 34th Conference of the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering (CASEIB2016), held in Valencia the 23rd, 24th and 25th of November 2016. Two oral communications on the field of magnetic resonance processing were presented.

Novel non-stationary noise estimation technique for MRI published

[14 Nov 2016]

A novel technique to estimate non-stationary patterns of noise in parallel MRI data has been published in the journal IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence: Non-Stationary Rician Noise Estimation in Parallel MRI using a Single Image: a Variance-Stabilizing Approach. The article is a collaboration of the University of Valladolid with  AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland), with the Applied Chest Imaging Laboratory (ACIL), Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA) and with the Biomedical Image Technologies Laboratory, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain).
